Who Should File FSSAI Returns?

Under the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006, all Food Business Operators (FBOs) are mandated to file an Annual Return with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

What is the penalty for non-filing of Annual Returns?

  • Failure to file the annual return after May 31st each year will attract a penalty of ₹100 for each day of delay. However, the total penalty is capped and cannot exceed five times the annual license fee.
