FSSAI/Food License – Basic

✔ The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, is a statutory body.

✔ It is tasked with formulating and enforcing food safety standards to ensure that food products in India are safe, hygienic, and of good quality.

✔ FSSAI Basic Registration is compulsory for small food businesses with an annual turnover of up to ₹12 lakhs.

✔ The registration remains valid for five years and must be renewed before its expiry.
